Urban Assembly

To provide support for their new College Planning Office which will provide guidance and counseling start-up functions for their school sites. The Urban Assembly is a non-profit education intermediary that since 1997 has opened 17 academically rigorous, theme-based public high schools in conjunction with the New York City Department of Education and New Visions for Public Schools. They have committed to a college-preparatory model for all of their schools. Through this effort they will provide the college planning offices with customized professional development, college counseling resources, technical support and targeted marketing initiatives. This grant will support the 14 schools in their network which do not have arts themes.
