To provide support for the Leadership Training: Focus on Principals Initiative to mentor young and inexperienced principals whose responsibilities are increasing and becoming more complex as a result of wide-ranging re-structuring of the New York City public school system. In exchange for greater autonomy, school leaders will have to exercise greater responsibility in areas that are largely unfamiliar to them. CEI-PEA will focus on fiscal and personnel management, two vital areas in which new principals are most in need of support.
