The first installment of a $100,000 grant payable over 2 years, to provide support for the newly established Coordinated Cancer Initiatives (“CCI”) program. The CCI applies the Institute’s collaborative model of research to a number of projects aimed at developing effective immunotherapies for cancer. The overall goal is to bring together a critical mass of world-class biomedical investigators with proven expertise and complementary strengths to tackle clinically relevant questions with maximal efficiency. They believe the discovery process will be accelerated and patient benefit will be realized in the quickest manner. CCI initiatives will include melanoma, ovarian and pediatric cancers, and spontaneous cancer-resistance.
